The towers of Zittau, first mentioned in an official document in 1238, rise where the Mandau river joins the Lusatian Neisse, at the point where the German, Polish, and Czech borders meet. Zittau is an idyllic town. Visitors can still see the signs of the city‘s early affluence thanks to trading, textile manufacturing and brewing. Along the Zittau Culture Trail, visitors will find the two famous Zittau “Lenten Veils”, over 50 heritage buildings as well as museums and cultural activities.
