Description
Lohsdorf station
Successful Visionaries …
The association was established in 1995. Its ambitious goal as laid down in the Statutes is the partial reconstruction of a narrow gauge railway running in Saxon Switzerland until 1951. By now, Lohsdorf station and its track installations have been reconstructed. Utilising still serviceable parts of the former waiting hall in Unterehrenberg, the entrance building of Lohsdorf station could be largely restored to its original state. The station festivals of 2006, 2008 and 2011 with guest locomotives enjoyed great success. Participants were happy that the narrow gauge railway would (partially) return to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The next stages will be to construct gradually the section running in the direction of Kohlmühle through the Schwarzbachtal valley.
